What is the “Industry Innovation Initiative”?
At the heart of ASaP are the industry mentors, AKA Innovation Coaches. Are a group of mindful industry leaders that facilitate authentic experiences beyond typical curriculum. The purpose of their mentorship is to help guide students' projects, enable their curiosity, initiative, and creativity, and to develop collaborative and analytical competencies that will help grow student’s personal and professional potential. Guided reflection upon these encounters will boost student’s internal motivation and help them incorporate what they have learned into future knowledge acquisition.
What characteristics do quality Innovation Coaches possess?
Strong collaboration and communication skills, especially active listening;
A strong desire to build young people’s confidence as they explore the entrepreneurial mindset together;
Willingness to share skills, knowledge, and expertise from their field of work;
Character-centered; acts as a strong role model and motivates by example; and
Experience in providing insightful, practical, objective feedback in an authentic environment.
